Culture, heritage, and literature is a combination that explores the relationship between the texts and artefacts that societies produce and the identities, values, and memories that those societies carry across time. Literature sits at the heart of this enquiry, as one of the primary forms through which cultures express themselves, tell their stories, and transmit their understanding of the world to future generations. Heritage studies examines how material and intangible culture is preserved, interpreted, and contested, asking who decides what is worth remembering and whose stories get told. Cultural studies provides the broader theoretical frameworks for understanding how meaning is made and circulated in societies.
