Economics provides the analytical tools for understanding some of the most fundamental forces shaping human society: how resources are allocated, how markets function, why some economies grow while others stagnate, and what policies can improve wellbeing for individuals and communities. It is a discipline grounded in both theory and evidence, combining rigorous modelling of how economies work with careful empirical analysis of what actually happens when policies and incentives change. These skills are among the most valued in the graduate labour market, opening doors across finance, policy, research, and business.
