About this course
Economics with marketing brings together two disciplines that, when studied in combination, give you an unusually complete picture of how markets work and how organisations within them succeed. Economics provides the theoretical and analytical tools to understand how prices are determined, how firms compete, how consumers make decisions, and how policy shapes economic outcomes. Marketing translates that understanding into practice, showing how organisations identify what people want and communicate why they should choose their product or service. At Goldsmiths, University of London this three-year full-time programme develops both strands with the critical and interdisciplinary approach that characterises Goldsmiths as an institution. Economics at Goldsmiths takes seriously the social and political contexts in which economic activity takes place, engaging with questions about inequality
