Financial technology, or fintech, is one of the most rapidly evolving fields at the intersection of finance, technology, and regulation. It encompasses digital banking, payment systems, blockchain and distributed ledger technology, algorithmic trading, robo-advice, insurtech, and the regulatory technology that helps financial institutions comply with increasingly complex rules. The emergence of fintech has disrupted established financial services models and created demand for professionals who understand both the financial principles at stake and the technological systems that are transforming how those principles are applied.
