About this course
Law is the framework through which societies organise collective life, resolve disputes, protect rights, and exercise power. Studying it at degree level is not simply vocational training for the legal profession, though it is certainly that too. It is an intellectual encounter with questions of justice, authority, and the relationship between law as it is and law as it ought to be. You learn to read statute and case law with precision, to construct arguments and identify their weaknesses, and to understand how legal systems function and why they sometimes fail.
