Mathematics with Finance and Investment Banking is a degree that brings together the abstract rigour of mathematics with the applied discipline of financial markets and investment. Financial mathematics is one of the most demanding and rewarding applications of quantitative reasoning, requiring a deep understanding of probability theory, calculus, statistics, and linear algebra alongside the economic and institutional knowledge needed to make sense of how markets actually behave. Investment banking and finance place these mathematical tools in the context of real commercial and regulatory environments, asking how firms raise capital, how portfolios are structured, how risk is priced, and how complex financial instruments are valued.
