About this course

Religion, philosophy, and ethics is a field that brings together three of the oldest and most persistently important areas of human enquiry. Religion examines the beliefs, practices, texts, and institutions through which human beings have sought meaning, community, and connection to what they regard as sacred or ultimate. Philosophy asks foundational questions about knowledge, reality, morality, and the nature of the mind, using argument and analysis as its primary tools. Ethics examines how we should act and how we should live, drawing on both philosophical reasoning and the moral traditions embedded in religious and cultural life. Together they address some of the deepest questions human beings face.
