About this course

Social work is one of the most directly consequential professions in public life. Social workers support some of the most vulnerable people in society, including children at risk, adults with disabilities or mental health needs, older people, and families in crisis. The role demands not only empathy and strong interpersonal skills but also a rigorous understanding of law, policy, child and adult development, and the social structures that shape people's lives. It is a profession that asks you to hold complexity, to make difficult judgements, and to advocate fiercely for the people you work with.
