It encompasses genetics, evolution, physiology, biochemistry, ecology, microbiology and cell biology, and it underpins everything from medicine and agriculture to conservation and biotechnology. Studying biology develops your ability to think scientifically, to design and interpret experiments, and to engage with the evidence base that drives progress in the life sciences.
