About this course

Education studies asks fundamental questions about what education is for, how it works, who it serves, and what it could become. Rather than training you directly as a school teacher, it examines education as a social, cultural, political, and philosophical phenomenon, drawing on sociology, history, psychology, philosophy, and policy analysis to understand how learning happens and how educational systems shape lives and opportunities. It is a degree for those who want to understand education critically and contribute to changing it for the better. At Leeds Beckett University this three-year full-time programme gives you the freedom to explore what it truly means to be an educator and to engage with the real-world challenges that confront educational practice and policy. You will examine questions of equality, access, and inclusion alongside the history and politics of educational reform
