Environmental geoscience sits at the intersection of geology, earth science and environmental science, addressing the physical processes that shape the Earth's surface and near-surface environments and the ways in which human activity interacts with and alters them. The discipline draws on geology, hydrology, soil science, geochemistry and remote sensing to understand phenomena such as landslides, flooding, groundwater contamination, coastal erosion, climate change impacts and the geochemical cycling of elements through the environment.
