About this course

Interior architecture and venue design occupies a creative space at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and experiential spatial design. Where architecture is concerned with the design of buildings as structures and systems, interior architecture focuses on how spaces within and around buildings are shaped, arranged, and experienced. Venue design adds a specific focus on spaces designed for events, performances, exhibitions, hospitality, and entertainment, contexts in which the experience of the visitor or audience is central to the design brief. The discipline develops spatial thinking, visual communication skills, technical knowledge of materials and construction, and the creative and conceptual ability to imagine and realise environments that work both functionally and experientially.
