Mechanical Engineering
BEng · Manchester Metropolitan University
About this course
Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines, encompassing the design, analysis, manufacture, and maintenance of physical systems across an enormous range of industries and applications. From the turbines that generate electricity and the engines that power vehicles to the medical devices that support human health and the robots that are transforming manufacturing, mechanical engineers apply fundamental principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, and dynamics to create things that work in the real world. At Manchester Metropolitan you will build a strong theoretical and practical foundation in mechanical engineering, studying mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, control systems, and engineering design. The programme equips you with both the analytical skills and the practical competence that employers look for,
