About this course

Medicine is among the most demanding and most rewarding of intellectual and professional undertakings. It asks you to combine scientific knowledge of extraordinary depth and breadth with the human skills required to listen, communicate, support and act in conditions of uncertainty. A medical degree is not simply the acquisition of clinical facts but the formation of a particular kind of clinical thinker: someone who can integrate knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and pathology and bring it to bear on the complex, often ambiguous presentations of real patients. At King's College London, the five-year full-time MBBS degree is built around an integrated curriculum that weaves together biomedical science, clinical skills and professional development from the earliest stages rather than separating the pre-clinical from the clinical in a strict two-phase structure
