About this course
Physics is the science of how the universe works at its most fundamental level. It uses the language of mathematics to describe phenomena ranging from the behaviour of subatomic particles to the large-scale structure of the cosmos, and in doing so provides the theoretical foundations from which all applied science and engineering ultimately derive. At Swansea University, the BSc Physics with a Foundation Year runs over four years of full-time study, with the foundation year offering the mathematical and scientific preparation that students need before entering the main programme.
