About this course
Sport coaching is the professional practice of guiding athletes and participants toward better performance, greater enjoyment and longer-term engagement with physical activity. It is a discipline that draws on exercise science, psychology, pedagogy and leadership theory, recognising that effective coaching involves far more than technical knowledge: it requires the ability to understand individuals, adapt communication, build relationships and create environments in which people can develop. Coaching at every level, from grassroots participation to elite performance, depends on practitioners who combine scientific understanding with human insight.
