About this course

Computing science and mathematics are natural intellectual companions. Computing provides the tools and systems through which information is processed, problems are solved, and the world is increasingly modelled and automated. Mathematics provides the language in which computing is grounded, from the logic underpinning programming and formal reasoning to the calculus, statistics, and linear algebra that drive machine learning, scientific computing, and data analysis. Studying them together gives you a deeper understanding of both: you learn to apply mathematical thinking to computational problems and to use computational tools to explore mathematical ones. At the University of Stirling, this four-year full-time programme develops your skills in programming, software engineering, algorithms, and computer systems alongside core and advanced areas of mathematics. You will study both discip
