About this course

Energy engineering addresses the design, development and management of the systems that generate, distribute and use energy. It is a field of growing urgency and ambition, sitting at the heart of the transition from fossil fuels to renewable and low-carbon energy sources that is one of the defining technological challenges of the coming decades. Energy engineers work on solar and wind power systems, energy storage technologies, smart grids, district heating, energy efficiency in buildings and industry, nuclear power and the integration of diverse energy sources into reliable and sustainable supply systems. At the University of East Anglia this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of the engineering principles underpinning energy systems alongside the environmental, economic and policy dimensions of the energy transition. You will study thermodynamics, fluid mechani
