Nursing with Leadership Dual Field (Mental Health and Adult Nursing)

About this course
Nursing with leadership in the dual field of mental health and adult nursing is a demanding and distinctive degree that prepares you to practise as a registered nurse in two separate fields while also developing the leadership capabilities that the profession increasingly needs. Mental health nursing and adult nursing serve different populations and require different clinical skills, but they also overlap: people with mental health conditions frequently have physical health needs, and adults with physical illness often experience significant psychological distress. Nurses who can work competently across this boundary are particularly well equipped for contemporary healthcare. At the University of Leicester this four-year programme develops the clinical knowledge, skills, and professional values needed to register as a nurse in both fields, alongside an explicit focus on leadership.
