Philosophy and Beginners' Portuguese is a degree that combines the intellectual rigour of analytical and continental philosophy with the acquisition of one of the world's most widely spoken and culturally rich languages. Philosophy trains you to reason carefully about fundamental questions: what can we know, how should we act, what is the nature of reality and of mind, and how does language relate to thought? Portuguese opens access to the cultures, literatures, and histories of Portugal, Brazil, and the Portuguese-speaking nations of Africa and Asia, encompassing an enormous diversity of peoples and creative traditions across several continents.
