Barrister's and Judge's Clerks

AI

Barrister's and judge's clerks keep the legal system running smoothly. They look after files, organize court cases, and help barristers and judges do their jobs properly.

The role

What a barrister's and judge's clerks actually does, day to day.

As a barrister's or judge's clerk, you are the organizing force behind court cases. When a case goes to court, there are hundreds of documents to keep track of - evidence, statements, legal arguments and more. You make sure everything is organized, up-to-date and ready when the court needs it.

Your job is part admin and part team support. You manage files, type up notes, answer calls from clients and lawyers, and work out the court timetable. You need to be very organized and spot mistakes quickly, because a single lost document or wrong date can cause big problems. You also help the barrister or judge understand what's in all those files so they can make good decisions.
