The role
What a tiktok creator actually does, day to day.
The work is coming up with ideas, filming and editing videos, posting regularly, engaging with followers and chasing trends, plus any brand deals or selling that brings in money. Creativity, consistency and a feel for what catches on matter, along with resilience, since most videos get little attention and growth is slow and unpredictable.
This is self-employed and highly uncertain - the vast majority of creators earn little or nothing, and only a few build real income from ads, sponsorships, selling or live gifts, usually after a long time and a lot of luck. It is best treated as a passion or side project rather than a guaranteed living, and it can be a real grind.
There are no qualifications - creators learn by doing, watching what works and improving their editing and ideas. Building an audience takes persistence, a distinctive style and steady posting, and any income must be declared to HMRC as self-employed.
