About this course

Dual-field nursing is a relatively rare but genuinely distinctive qualification that prepares graduates to work across two of the most complex and demanding areas of nursing practice. Child health nursing requires an understanding of how children's physiology, psychology and communication differ from those of adults, and how care must be adapted to support children and their families through illness and recovery. Mental health nursing demands therapeutic skill, knowledge of a wide range of mental health conditions, and the ability to build trusting professional relationships with people who are often in profound distress. Training across both fields develops a breadth of clinical competence and human understanding that is exceptional.
