Religion, philosophy, and ethics address questions that have occupied human beings for as long as we have records of thought: why does anything exist, what gives life meaning, how should we treat one another, and what is the relationship between faith and reason? These are not merely academic questions. They arise in hospitals, in courts, in political debates, in personal crises, and in the everyday choices people make about how to live. A degree that combines all three disciplines gives you the conceptual tools to engage with them seriously and carefully. At York St John University, you will explore the history and diversity of religious traditions, the central arguments of Western and non-Western philosophy, and the principal frameworks of ethical thought, from consequentialism and virtue ethics to feminist and environmental ethics.
