About this course
Sport management and coaching sits at the intersection of the business of sport and the science and practice of developing athletic performance. Sport management examines how sports organisations, events, facilities, and governing bodies are run, drawing on management, marketing, finance, and strategy. Coaching science applies psychology, biomechanics, physiology, and pedagogical theory to understand how athletes learn, develop, and perform, and how coaches can best support this process. Studied together, the two disciplines prepare graduates for careers across the breadth of the sports industry.
