About this course

Aeronautics and astronautics represent two of the most technically demanding and intellectually exciting frontiers in engineering. Aeronautics is concerned with the design and analysis of vehicles that operate within the Earth's atmosphere, including commercial aircraft, military jets, and unmanned systems. Astronautics extends these principles into the extraordinary environment of space, where the challenges of propulsion, thermal management, orbital mechanics, and spacecraft systems engineering operate under constraints that have no parallel on Earth. This four-year programme at Southampton brings these disciplines together, with a particular focus on spacecraft systems engineering that prepares you for the growing space industry.
