Biology is the science of life in all its extraordinary diversity and complexity, concerned with understanding how living organisms are structured, how they function at the molecular and cellular level, how they develop across their lifespans, how they interact with each other and with their environments, and how life has evolved over billions of years into the forms we see today. It is one of the broadest and most rapidly advancing of the sciences, encompassing everything from the mechanisms of gene expression inside individual cells to the dynamics of entire ecosystems.
