About this course

Biomedical science is the discipline that underpins modern healthcare, using the techniques of biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and clinical laboratory science to understand disease and to support its diagnosis and treatment. Biomedical scientists work behind the scenes in hospital laboratories and research environments, performing the analyses that guide clinical decisions and advancing the knowledge on which new treatments are built. This four-year full-time programme at the University of Suffolk includes a foundation year that provides you with the subject knowledge, study skills, and personal confidence required to successfully progress towards the BSc (Hons) degree. The foundation year is a structured entry point that introduces the core sciences underlying biomedical study before you progress into the main degree.
