About this course
Integrated engineering is a broad-based engineering programme designed to give you solid foundations across multiple engineering disciplines before you specialise or move into a professional role. It reflects the reality that many of the most interesting engineering challenges do not respect disciplinary boundaries: designing a sustainable building requires structural, electrical, and environmental thinking; developing a medical device requires mechanical, electronic, and materials knowledge; managing an infrastructure project draws on civil, mechanical, and systems engineering together. The three-year full-time Integrated Engineering programme at the University of Plymouth is available with a foundation year for students who need additional preparation before entering degree-level study, and includes a sandwich year, year abroad, and work placement options for those who want to combine
