Landscape architecture is concerned with the design, planning, and stewardship of outdoor environments, from urban parks, streets, and waterways to large-scale ecological and infrastructure projects. It draws on ecology, earth science, spatial design, social theory, and cultural history to create places that function for people and support biodiversity, often in contexts where climate resilience and environmental sustainability are central concerns. The profession is increasingly recognised as essential to how cities adapt to climate change, restore damaged ecosystems, and provide the green infrastructure that improves public health and quality of life.
