About this course

Musical theatre is a performing art that demands a rare combination of skills: the ability to act with genuine emotional truth, to sing with power and precision, and to move with physical freedom and choreographic awareness, often simultaneously. Unlike training in a single performance discipline, musical theatre training requires you to develop all three strands in an integrated way, because in the art form itself they are never truly separate. It is a discipline that is technically rigorous, physically demanding, and creatively rich, drawing on traditions that range from Broadway and the West End to new writing and experimental performance. At Anglia Ruskin University, this three-year full-time degree develops the full set of skills that musical theatre training requires.
