Politics with international relations brings together two disciplines that are natural complements, examining the exercise of power both within and between states. Politics develops your understanding of political systems, ideologies, governance, democratic participation, and policy-making in domestic contexts. International relations extends that analysis to the global level, examining how states interact, why conflicts arise, how cooperation is achieved through international institutions, and what role non-state actors play in shaping global outcomes. Together they give you a rigorous analytical framework for understanding the political world in all its complexity.
