About this course
Russian and politics is a combination that has rarely been more relevant. Russia has reasserted itself as one of the defining forces in European and global politics, and understanding that country in any depth requires engagement with its language, literary and cultural tradition, and the historical and political forces that have shaped it. Russian is also a gateway to a vast Slavic and post-Soviet cultural and political world. Politics provides the analytical frameworks to understand how states are governed, how foreign policy is made, how international institutions function, and how power operates in democratic and authoritarian systems alike.
