About this course
Sport and exercise science is the systematic application of the natural sciences to the study of human movement, physical performance, and health. It brings together exercise physiology, biomechanics, and sports psychology to ask how the body responds to physical demands, how performance can be enhanced through training and nutrition, how movement can be made more efficient, and how sport and exercise can contribute to lifelong health. The discipline has grown rapidly as the evidence base for exercise as medicine has expanded and as professional sport has become ever more data-driven in its approach to performance. At Manchester Metropolitan you will study this programme part time and via distance learning, giving you the flexibility to engage with sport and exercise science alongside work or other commitments. Distance learning means your study is not geographically constrained, though
