About this course

Sport and exercise science applies the principles of physiology, biomechanics, and psychology to understand how the human body responds to physical activity and how that understanding can be used to improve performance, health, and wellbeing. It is a discipline that sits at the intersection of biology and applied science, and its relevance extends from the training of elite athletes to the design of physical activity interventions for people managing chronic health conditions. The growth of professional sport and the public health agenda around physical activity have both contributed to making this one of the more dynamic applied science fields. At Salford this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of the physiological, biomechanical, and psychological dimensions of sport and exercise. You will study how the cardiovascular, respiratory, and muscular systems respond
