About this course

Criminology with law is a degree that brings together the scientific study of crime and the legal frameworks through which society responds to it. Criminology asks why crime occurs, who is affected by it, and what the social conditions are that produce different patterns of offending and victimisation. Law provides the rules, institutions, and procedures through which societies define criminal behaviour, process offenders, and seek to deliver justice. Studying them together means you can examine not just what the law says but what its effects are on individuals and communities, and not just why people commit crimes but how the criminal justice system responds.
