About this course

Music Production is the discipline concerned with the creation, recording, shaping and delivery of recorded sound. It sits at the intersection of musicianship, technology, creative vision and commercial practice, and encompasses everything from the initial arrangement and recording of tracks to mixing, mastering and the final formats in which music reaches listeners. A music producer is both a creative collaborator and a technical expert, someone who understands how sound behaves, how music is structured and how to use the tools of the studio to realise an artistic vision. The field spans genres, platforms and production contexts, from solo artist recordings and film scores to podcast audio and game soundtracks.
