About this course

Philosophy is the discipline concerned with the most fundamental questions humans can ask: about knowledge and its limits, about the nature of reality, about what we owe each other, and about the basis of rational argument. It develops the ability to think with clarity and rigour about ideas that are genuinely difficult, to identify unstated assumptions, to construct careful arguments, and to recognise where reasoning fails. These are intellectual capacities that matter well beyond any particular subject area.
