About this course

Psychology and criminology each illuminate different aspects of why people behave as they do, and the questions they raise overlap significantly in the study of offending, victimisation and the criminal justice system. Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour, drawing on neuroscience, cognitive science, social psychology and clinical research to understand how individuals think, feel and act. Criminology examines crime as a social phenomenon, asking how it is defined, measured, explained and responded to at the levels of individuals, communities and institutions.
