About this course

Psychology with neuroscience is a combination that brings together two disciplines engaged in a shared project of understanding the mind, one approaching it from the perspective of behaviour and mental processes, the other from the perspective of the brain and nervous system that produce them. Psychology investigates cognition, emotion, perception, social behaviour and mental health through experimental and observational methods, building a rich empirical picture of what people do and experience. Neuroscience extends this picture by examining the biological mechanisms, neural circuits, brain structures and molecular processes that underlie psychological phenomena.
