Quantity surveying and commercial management is a discipline concerned with the financial and contractual management of construction projects, from initial cost planning and procurement through to final account settlement. Quantity surveyors and commercial managers ensure that construction is delivered within budget, that contracts are properly administered, and that the commercial interests of clients and contractors alike are protected throughout the lifecycle of a project. The discipline combines technical understanding of construction with skills in law, finance, and negotiation, making it one of the most commercially important professions in the built environment. At the University of Westminster, this three-year full-time programme takes a project-focused approach, exposing you to real and historical construction projects to develop effective cost prediction and management skills.
