Sport rehabilitation and conditioning bridges the gap between clinical injury management and the performance demands of athletic training. Rehabilitation focuses on restoring function after injury, using evidence-based techniques to help individuals recover movement, strength, and confidence. Conditioning focuses on building the physical capacities, strength, power, endurance, and mobility, that allow athletes to perform and to resist future injury. Together they form a specialism that is increasingly recognised as distinct from physiotherapy and sports science, with its own professional standards and scope of practice.
