Economics and Gaelic studies is an unusual and genuinely enriching combination, bringing together the rigorous analytical science of economics with the study of Scotland's oldest living language and the culture and history it carries. Economics provides the theoretical and quantitative tools to understand how markets, institutions, and policies shape outcomes for individuals and societies, including the economic dimensions of small nations and minority language communities that economics as a discipline has increasingly engaged with.
