Electronic and computer engineering sits at the heart of the digital world, combining the study of electronic hardware, from circuit design and signal processing to microprocessors and communications systems, with the software and systems engineering knowledge needed to build complex, reliable computing infrastructure. The two disciplines are deeply interdependent: effective hardware requires software to control it, and effective software requires hardware designed to support it. Together, they prepare you to work on the systems that underpin modern communications, computing, and control across every sector of the economy. At the University of Nottingham, this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year and a year abroad, providing both a supported entry point for students who need to build their scientific and mathematical foundations and an international study experience
