About this course

Film as an academic and creative discipline asks how moving images work: how they are made, what they mean, how they are received and how they relate to the broader social, historical and technological contexts in which they are produced. It is a field that encompasses both the close analysis of film as a cultural form and the practical skills of filmmaking, from screenwriting and directing to cinematography, editing and production design.
