Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology)

About this course
Healthcare science in cardiac physiology is the discipline concerned with investigating, monitoring, and assessing the function of the heart and cardiovascular system. Cardiac physiologists are healthcare scientists who perform diagnostic investigations including electrocardiography, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation support, and ambulatory monitoring, providing the clinical data that cardiologists and other physicians depend on to make treatment decisions. The profession is regulated and plays an essential role in managing the large and growing burden of cardiovascular disease in the UK population. At Middlesex University, this three-year full-time programme is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the NHS's Modernising Scientific Careers programme, developing the skills that are in short supply and high demand within the healthcare science workforce.
