History

About this course

History is one of the foundational disciplines of the humanities, concerned with how human beings have organised their lives, exercised power, made sense of the world, and changed across time. It develops the ability to read sources carefully and sceptically, to reconstruct events and processes from incomplete evidence, to construct arguments that are proportionate to what the evidence will actually bear, and to communicate findings with clarity and precision. These are capacities with value well beyond the study of the past itself. At Northeastern University London, this three-year full-time History programme engages with historical events and their relevance to contemporary issues, connecting past narratives to modern challenges including environmental concerns and social justice.
