About this course
Sport science and mathematics is a combination that reflects the increasingly quantitative nature of modern sport, where performance analysis, statistical modelling and biomechanical measurement play a central role in understanding and improving athletic outcomes. Sport science applies biology, physiology, psychology and biomechanics to the study of human physical performance, while mathematics provides the rigorous analytical and statistical tools that allow that data to be interpreted meaningfully. Together they train students who can bring genuine mathematical rigour to questions about sport and physical performance. At Nottingham Trent University, this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation element that provides preparation in the underpinning sciences and mathematics before the main degree begins, making it well suited to students who wish to build their knowledge prog
