About this course

Chemical engineering and chemistry together span the scientific principles of matter and the engineering processes that put those principles to practical use at industrial scale. Chemistry gives you deep understanding of the molecular world: how atoms bond, how reactions occur, and how new compounds can be synthesised and characterised. Chemical engineering takes that understanding and asks how reactions and separations can be carried out continuously, safely, economically and at the scale that industry demands. Together they form a curriculum that moves fluently between laboratory science and process design.
