Electronic engineering is the discipline responsible for the devices and systems that carry and process electrical signals: the circuits inside smartphones and computers, the communication systems that carry data across the world, the sensors that detect everything from heat to movement, the power systems that distribute electricity and the embedded systems that control vehicles, medical devices and industrial machinery. Almost every aspect of modern technology depends on electronic engineering, and the discipline continues to evolve rapidly as new materials, new fabrication techniques and new applications emerge. At the University of Portsmouth, the three-year full-time degree develops your understanding of electronic circuit design, signals and systems, communications engineering, digital electronics, power electronics, embedded systems, cybersecurity and the mathematical foundations
